For confidential, privileged and personal work

Keep confidential data out of your AI chats.

Redaktis swaps client and personal details, ID numbers, amounts, proprietary names and secret keys for placeholders in your browser, before a prompt reaches ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini. It puts the real values back in the reply on your screen.

Chrome and Edge. No card for the trial. A free plan covers names, emails and phone numbers for one person.

You typed

Draft a polite reminder to Maria Fernandez (maria@northwindtrading.com, +44 7700 900123) that Northwind Trading Ltd still owes $38,000 on invoice 2041.

What the AI receives

Draft a polite reminder to [NAME_1] ([EMAIL_1], [PHONE_1]) that [COMPANY_1] still owes [MONEY_1] on invoice 2041.

Redaktis hid 5 values from the AI. Your organisation keeps a count of them (never the values).

The extension as it appears on a chat site. The person, company and numbers are made up.
Works on ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, Grok, Perplexity, DeepSeek, Mistral Le Chat, Meta AI and Poe. Your organisation can add other sites.

How it works

Three steps, all on your computer.

The checking is done by the extension in your browser. Your text is not sent to Redaktis to be checked.

  1. You write or attach as usual

Redaktis reads what you type, paste or attach. Files are read on your computer, scanned images included.

  2. Sensitive values become placeholders

Each value is replaced by a numbered placeholder such as [NAME_1]. The same value always gets the same placeholder, so the AI can still follow who owes what to whom.

  3. The reply is put back

The AI answers using placeholders. Redaktis swaps the real values back in on your screen. The table that links them never leaves your computer.

The box shown when your organisation’s policy says warn for a kind of value. The reason field appears only if the policy requires one. Policies can mask, warn, block or allow each kind, per site.

What it hides

The details that actually get pasted into AI.

Detection uses rules for structured values and, where your organisation switches it on, a language model that runs on the computer.

What it does not do

  • It lowers risk. It cannot promise to catch everything. A first name on its own, or a company written without “Pvt Ltd”, can stay visible.
  • Values written to dodge detection are looked for only when your organisation turns that option on.
  • It protects the browser. The ChatGPT and Claude desktop apps are not covered, so IT should block them where that matters.
  • When you copy a reply, the real values are copied with it.
  • It does not make a use of AI HIPAA compliant, and it is not legal advice.

For IT teams

Set the rules once. See counts, never text.

The Redaktis Manager is the console for your fleet. Redaktis hosts it in Mumbai, or you run it yourself.

  • Force-install through Google Admin, Microsoft Intune or Jamf. Browsers enrol on their own.
  • Signed policies. Choose per kind of data and per site: mask, warn, block or allow. Treat work and personal accounts differently.
  • Staged rollout to a share of browsers first, then promote or roll back.
  • Fleet view with coverage against your headcount, and an alert when browsers go silent.
  • Counts-only governance. The console receives numbers such as “4 names hidden on chatgpt.com”. No prompt, file or value is ever sent.
  • Evidence pack. A downloadable record of what your browsers hid over a period, written around India’s DPDP Act. It supports your own compliance work and is not legal advice.
The console dashboard, with sample numbers. Counts only.
The policy editor. Nothing reaches a browser until it is published, and published policies are signed.

Coding agents

The same rules for developers’ tools.

redaktis-agent runs on the developer’s machine: a local gateway for API traffic, an MCP wrapper and hooks. It uses the same policies and reports the same counts as the browser.

  • Tested with Claude Code. Codex, Copilot CLI and Cursor connect the same way, but have not been run end to end against the real tools yet.
  • Sold as its own seat, with no browser seat needed.
  • Counts differ from the browser’s. An agent prompt is one request to the model API, so agent and browser numbers are not comparable.

Security and privacy

We built it so that we never see your work.

A privacy tool that collected your prompts would defeat its purpose. This is exactly what goes where.

Stays on your computer

  • Everything you type, paste or attach
  • The real values, and the table linking them to placeholders
  • The AI’s replies, with values put back
  • Files, read locally, scanned images too
  • To the AI siteThe masked prompt only
  • To your organisation’s consoleCounts, such as “4 names hidden on chatgpt.com”. Never text.
  • To redaktis.com at activationA random install ID, the extension version and, if you type one, a computer name

One technical safeguard among several

Privacy laws expect organisations to protect personal data with technical measures: reasonable security safeguards under India’s DPDP Act, security of processing under GDPR Article 32, and the HIPAA Security Rule in the US. Redaktis is one such measure. It reduces what reaches AI services and keeps a count-only record of what it hid. It is not a compliance certificate and not legal advice, and detection can miss things.

  • Where it is hosted. The hosted console runs in Mumbai; an EU region is not available yet. You can self-host it instead, so counts stay on your network. It stores an employee name, device name or number you choose, never staff email addresses.
  • Idle without a licence. Without a valid licence the extension does not mask, count or report.
  • Deletion. An owner can download everything held about the organisation, or delete the organisation and its data in one step.
  • No ads, no resale. Data is used only to run the service.

Questions

What firms ask before they start.

Can Redaktis read my prompts or my clients’ data?

No. Detection and masking happen inside the extension on your computer. Your text, files, the hidden values and the AI’s replies are never sent to us. Your organisation’s console receives counts only.

Will the AI still give useful answers?

In most cases. The AI sees consistent placeholders such as [NAME_1] and [COMPANY_1], so it can still reason about who owes what to whom. Redaktis swaps the real values back into the reply on your screen. When you copy the reply, the real values are copied too.

Do I need an IT person to set it up?

No. Install the extension, create an account on redaktis.com and activate. We host the console. If you do have IT, they can push the extension and its settings through browser policy instead.

Should we use the hosted console or run our own?

Hosted is simpler: nothing to install, and we keep it running in Mumbai. Self-hosted suits firms whose clients forbid any third party: per-person counts stay on your network, and you hold the key that signs your policies. Only a whole-organisation total and the licence check reach us.

Does it help with privacy law and client confidentiality?

It reduces how much personal data reaches AI services, and the evidence pack shows what your team’s browsers hid over a period. It is one technical safeguard among several. It does not make you compliant with DPDP, GDPR, HIPAA or any other law, and it is not legal advice; check your obligations with your adviser.

Can we use it with patient records?

Redaktis has healthcare policies that hide the identifiers on the HIPAA Safe Harbor list that appear in text: names, dates, record and health-plan numbers, device codes, places and links. They reduce the health information sent to AI services. They do not make a use of an AI service HIPAA compliant or de-identified: that needs every identifier removed, and with most AI services a business associate agreement. In India, health data is personal data under the DPDP Act; the same caution applies. Photos and scans are blacked out or held back for you to confirm. Detection can miss things, so check what you send.

What happens if we stop paying?

The current licence runs to its end date, followed by a 7-day grace period. After that the extension stops protecting and stays installed but idle until a licence is renewed.

Which browsers are supported?

Chrome and Microsoft Edge today. Other browsers will follow.
